Don't let the name fool you. ghostlab.DS has nothing to do with spooks and/or scientists.* The name actually derives from a mixture of the transient mobility granted by a freelancer lifestyle and my near scientific approach to design.
*Though I am an avid fan of monster movies and mad scientists.
In essence, I am the creative kid that sat next to you in science class. However, instead of dissecting frogs I was more interested in doodling the fantastical worlds in which they might have lived. This sense of imagination and curiosity would follow me throughout my childhood, taking many forms until finally leading me down the path of graphic design.
After graduating high school in 2001, I was accepted in the Art Institute of Atlanta's accelerated degree program where I learned some of the most fundamental principles of design and client relations. In 2003 I took a brief sabbatical in order to gain some real world experience in the advertising and design industry.
When I decided to return to school in mid-2005, I found myself enrolled at Columbus State University under their Fine Arts program. During my time at CSU I was able to gain a better understanding of the creative process behind some of the art world's most respected individuals. This understanding of how creative process informs visual communication has carried over into much of my current work as a designer.
In 2010, with over eight years of industry experience and training, I find myself with a renewed vigor for expanding my skills and services. It is my hope to find even more clients who seek the kind of collaborative nature that my creative process inspires and help them achieve the success they deserve. In short, I find inspiration in life and the people that live it. I pass my time doing some of the coolest things I can imagine.
